The palette stripped to its limit. Black, white and the range between — no colour to guide the eye, no warmth to offer relief. In this series, structure and movement are the only subjects.
The eye is forced to read depth through contrast alone, to find space where there is none and stillness where the marks refuse to settle. Each canvas in the series asks the same question in a different key.
